About Ed Mylett
As a young man, Ed Mylett aimed for a career as a major-league baseball player. While a communications major at University of the Pacific in Stockton, Ed Mylett played NCAA Division I baseball as a member of the Pacific Tigers.
Named an NCAA All-American three times, his .340 batting average was the best on the team and he led the league in stolen bases: 27 in one year, 75 over his career. Ed Mylett joined the top 10 players in Pacific Tigers history for career games, hits, walks, at-bats, and runs as well. When an injury ended any notion of going on to the majors, Ed Mylett worked briefly as a youth counselor, and then accepted a position in 1992 with World Financial Group, Inc. (WFG). "They put a uniform on me," he recalled, "and I found the same principles apply as do in baseball – those who get there early and stay there late are successful."
In little time, Ed Mylett worked his way through the positions of CEO Marketing Director, Senior Executive Vice Chairman, member of the Chairman's Council, WFG Agency Chairman, and is now Director of Field Leadership. WFG named Ed Mylett to the Millionaire Hall of Fame before he was 30.
Ed Mylett enjoys weight lifting and golf in his leisure time, and maintains active membership in the Southern California Golf Association.
Among his favorite writers, Ed Mylett cites the inspirational authors John C. Maxwell, Napoleon Hill, and Anthony Robbins. His favorite books include Hill's Think and Grow Rich, Robbins' Awaken the Giant Within, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, Wooden on Leadership by John Wooden, and Ed Mylett also lists The Bible as a favorite.
